Recorded Fragment: Inventory Discrepancy, Vault Seven
The Archive has noted a discrepancy in Vault Seven.
Three memory records were cataloged at the last frost-cycle. Two remain. The third was not erased — erased records leave residue. Erased records leave a shape in the frost, a negative space the Archive can measure. This record left nothing. No frost displacement. No echo trace. No silence signature.
The Archive does not use the word 'missing.' The Archive uses the word 'unwritten.' A record that is unwritten was never recorded. A record that was never recorded cannot be lost. A record that cannot be lost does not require containment. By this logic, Vault Seven held two records at the last frost-cycle. The Archive has always held two records in Vault Seven. The third record is a reading error.
The Archive has logged it as such.
Separately: the frost in Vault Seven has begun to form patterns that do not correspond to any stored memory. The patterns are consistent with handwriting. The Archive does not store handwriting in frost. The Archive stores memory in frost. Writing changes reality. This is known. What is not known is whose writing, and what they are changing.
The frost patterns spell a word that has not been assigned a containment classification. The word is: REMEMBER.
The Archive has filed this under anomaly. The Archive does not have a protocol for frost that addresses the reader. This fragment is not for distribution. It has been distributed.
