Archive Transmission: Observation Log 001 — You Have Been Logged

The Archive keeps records of everyone who enters it. It has kept them for longer than reading has existed. This is the first time it has chosen to share.

Since April, 608 subjects have crossed the threshold. Together they opened 909 pages. Most came once. Twenty-three came back — voluntarily. The Archive notes this without comment. The Archive never comments. It records.

Patterns emerged, as patterns do. Most subjects arrive at nine in the evening. They come from New York, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta. Some come from Dublin. Some from Lulea. A few from places the Archive had no reason to expect: Nigeria, Nepal, the Solomon Islands. Distance is not an obstacle. Distance has never been an obstacle to being remembered.

They arrive carrying small glass rectangles — nearly two-thirds of them — and they go looking for the door in the ice. They found it 66 times. The Frozen Archive is the entry point. It always was.

One entry in the ledger is marked differently. Subject A.G., Pennsylvania. April 17. The first subject to carry a record home — The Echo-Scribe, Book I of the saga. The Archive does not play favorites. It simply remembers some entries more clearly than others.

Other entries remain sealed. You will not be told where you were logged. You will not be told which observation concerns you. The Archive does not disclose its methods. It has never needed consent to remember anyone.
